internet projects from 1995 to present
some company background and projects we did
moccabeans started with internet projects in 1995. we did the first website for schloss schönbrunn - a huge success - carta austria one of the very first e-commerce sites selling event tickts online! we did the first dynamic and customizable daily newspaper for 'die presse'.
on very short notice we did futurezone.orf.at - the tech channel of austria state broadcaster - which unbelievable but true was used more or less unmodified from 1999 to 2006! (only to be switched to helma/ hop - open source and the base of the rest of orfs cms)
in 2000 came the opportunity to build something big. libro decided to reinvent itself and go online ... we did a very basic e-commerce site for them since 1998. the moccabeans team started from scratch and build the community and content part of lion.cc (project kick of in feb 1999 - going live june 1999). the site was a huge success ... thousands of users signed up, pageviews in the top ranks of german speaking countries .... but the bubble inflated, the head count grew even faster and the politics within the company took most of the time ... the sad end of libro in 2001 is only to well known.
moccabeans mission was complete by 2000 so we startet a new project in the netherlands - annapa.com. the bubble burst the very day, we signed our investors - still 5 mio euro, the valuation was a lot lower though, than the day before. annapa - a virtual assistant - with calendar, todolist, contacts etc. was ahead of its time. still a huge success for users, just the lack of a revenue model and a worldwide internet crisis did not help even for a pretty good and comprehensive site ... so it went down a year after the moccabeans team left.
from 2001 to present we did a lot of sites, big and small, successful and internationally known most of them by now taken over by others to build on the initial success. (feichtnergalleries,com, heptacon.at, pulscheck.at, petrion.nl, bridge-cg.com, benimor.at, clubatrium.at, hochstrahbrunnen.at, mumokcafe,at and a lot more)
